Meet this year’s interns!

Alexander Wong
Church: Kairos Christian Church
Location: Coban, Guatemala
Alexander Wong was born in San Francisco, California, and grew up in a Chinese Christian church and household. However, after a traumatic incident that led to the death of his father at an early age, Alexander had left the church and wouldn’t return for another 10 years. He studied for a career in Clinical Psychology dedicated to researching brain trauma and lesion. He pondered the inherent life-long responsibility as a Christ-follower to spread the gospel. He viewed the AMI 1-Year mission trip as the best opportunity for him to take part in the ministry of God’s kingdom across the world.
Prayer Requests:
- Strength, passion, and heart to worship God in every avenue of my life. Not just during times of musical worship but worship to God when I rise, when I fast, when I do devotionals, when I interact with others. Worship to the creator in every aspect of my life.
- That God will provide for my family during my potential leave for missions. That as I surrender that responsibility I have towards my family to God, I will trust that God will provide the best for my family in his unimaginable knowledge.
- Repentance, an open mind, that I will be willing to be teachable. That I can abandon all pride and talents that I may have to understand that my thoughts are influenced from the world.

Hannah Chiang
Church: Tapestry LA Church
Location: Coban, Guatemala
Hannah Chiang is originally from Fullerton, California and graduating from USC this May with a BA in Communications. While at USC, she served at Tapestry LA and USC Kristos Campus Missions (KCM) combining her interests in graphic design, photography, and videography with her desire to serve in college. Serving not only provided her with a close community but also the opportunities to learn more about who God is and seek His face beyond Sunday mornings.
As a senior anxious about the future and wanting more direction, Hannah began praying for God to tell her where to go next after graduating from USC. Through prayer, God asked her to be obedient in applying for this AMI internship—and here she is now! An entire year serving God in missions is daunting, but she is praying that He will constantly remind her of His sovereignty while she is abroad.
Prayer Requests:
- Rely on God for EVERYTHING – no matter how big or small, and to trust that He will answer and provide
- To join God where He’s already working and not be pressured to accomplish things for personal glory

Isabelle Kwok
Church: Kairos Christian Church
Location: Coban, Guatemala
Isabelle Kwok is a senior studying History and Political Science at San Diego State University. She was born and raised in Diamond Bar, California, and grew up there alongside her younger brother. She is passionate about coffee, nonfiction, cooking, LA sports teams, and indie R&B. Her heart for missions comes from a deep desire to know, grow, and share His hope with those who have yet to experience it. She is excited to join in on what God is doing around the world and serve Him in faith.
Prayer Requests:
- The preparation process: logistically, for guidance, faith, and safety–that there are no issues with travel. That my heart be continually refined and softened in the months leading up to the sendoff.
- Those around me: A deeper empathy, understanding, and heart for what God is doing outside of my circle of influence; supporting and being supported by my community and Church family.
- My heart: to be present in what God is doing before me, pursue intentionality, and for the ability to yield and surrender all my personal fears and anxieties.

Seren Riggs-Davis
Church: Symphony Church
Location: Taipei, Taiwan
Seren Riggs-Davis hails from Mesa, Arizona, and will graduate from Wellesley College in June where she studied English and computer science. When she’s not spending hours talking on the phone, she loves to write, try new places to eat in Boston, and watch romantic comedies! Seren loves drawing near to Jesus through prayer and worship, and helping others to do the same. In April 2020, she felt God challenging her to give a year after graduation wholeheartedly devoted to Him, which led her to apply to 1-year. She is so excited to serve God and make His name known in Taipei!
Prayer Requests:
- Finishing my time at Wellesley strong and having discernment about where God wants my time and energy to be spent before I graduate.
- Our campus! Pray that God would revive hearts with new love for Him, His Word, and His Church.
- Preparing my heart for 1-yr. That my relationship with Jesus would grow even deeper, and I would be more interested in who He is over what He can do for me.

Theodore Lee
Church: Tapestry LA Church
Location: Coban, Guatemala
Teddy Lee was born and raised in San Diego, and graduated with a Bachelor’s in Computer Science at the University of Southern California. In his free time, he enjoys listening to and creating music, as well as playing a variety of sports. - An open mind in what God has planned for my future.
- A deepened relationship with God.
- A greater love of missions.
